On September 1st, 2018 Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Aktau city specializing in chemistry and biology opened its doors to 100 new pupils of Mangystau Region. During this new academic year there will be 650 pupils.
The festivities began with a parade comprised of newly admitted student. These students were awarded state scholarships “Orken”, which allow them to study at intellectual schools. It should be noted that more than 800 pupils of Mangystau Region competed for the right to study in the school.
In new 2018-2019 academic year faculty of teachers of intellectual school has increased as well. This year more than 30 additional skilled teachers joined the team. During the celebratory assembly the administration of the school gave out school scarfs to the new colleagues.
The principal of the school Ermek Paizov wished everyone a successful forthcoming year.
“This academic year for all of us is a special one. This year autonomic educational organization Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools turned 10,” noted Ermek Serikovich in his performance.
Results of the following social projects were presented to the audience: “Two weeks in a village”,
“10 days at parents’ workplace” and ”Summer school 2018”. Moreover, students who had shown great academic results during the previous academic year were given an opportunity to attend summer courses offered by Stanford University (USA), Johns Hopkins University (USA) and Columbia University (USA), Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong) and Nazarbayev University.

The first bell of 2018-2019 academic years was rung by pupils of the 7th grade Nurgasyr Torebayev, who received the highest number of points during entrance examination (917 points) and Mira Sultangaliyeva who received 909 points.
The celebratory assembly was followed by a forum “I am a patriot of my country”. During the forum participants of self-development summer courses and winners of competitions, which took place in abroad, shared their experience with the rest of the students and faculty.
The celebratory assembly has continued a forum – “I am a patriot of the country”. During the forum, for motivation pupils of intellectual school have told again accepted pupils about summer courses of increase in knowledge and competitions which passed in other countries.
– From August 7 to August 19 I was part of “Stanford Pre-Collegiate International Institutes(SPCII)” course organized by Stanford University. This course was very informative, interesting and useful for me. During the course I have obtained a lot of information necessary for development of my scientific project. I will use the gained knowledge in the future by all means. I thank my school and teachers for such a unique opportunity, said Nurdaulet Torebay, a student of the 12th grade
After the forum, student government has conducted a campus tour for pupils of 7th grade and their parents. They have also explained the mission of school, its motto and rules of academic honesty.
It should be noted that Nazarbayev Intellectual School will have its second batch of graduates during this academic year. At the moment there are 57 students in the 12th grade.
