GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP

WHAT IS “GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP”?

Global citizenship is a term that summarizes the social, political, environmental and economic actions of individuals and communities who think globally on a global scale. Global citizenship looks at the world through the eyes of friendship, equality, peace and security for a brighter future. The term is based on the claim that individuals are members of numerous, diverse local and international organizations, rather than individuals from isolated communities. Promoting global citizenship in sustainable development will allow people to take on social responsibility for acting in the public interest, not just their own.

The concept of global citizenship is included in the UN document “Sustainable Development Goals” in clause 4: “Providing full and quality education for all and promoting long-term learning, including global citizenship education as one of its goals”. The teachers of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Aktau are introducing global citizenship during the study as well as in educational work in several areas.

You can find out what intellectual school students think about global citizenship in the next video.

The global nationality is the term generalizing social, political, ecological and economic actions of the persons and communities conceiving globally on a global scale. The global nationality looks at the world eyes of friendship, equality, the world and safety for bright future. This term is based on a statement that individuals are members of the numerous, various local and international organizations, but not separate subjects from the isolated communities. Assistance of global civic consciousness in sustainable development will allow people to assume social responsibility for actions for the benefit of society, and not just own interests.
